Yellow Watch - Winter Storm
2:27 p.m. CST Monday 2 March 2026

Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Hazardous winter conditions are possible.

Blizzard conditions are possible beginning Tuesday morning.

Strong winds will develop over much of the Kivalliq region Monday night into Tuesday morning, bringing a risk of blizzard conditions to many of the townsites. The condition of the snowpack and lack of recent snowfall leads to some uncertainty regarding the intensity of visibility reductions due to blowing snow.

Conditions are expected to improve midweek when the winds diminish.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Local utility outages are possible. Property damage is possible.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NUstorm@ec.gc.ca, call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #NUStorm.
