9:29 a.m. CDT Thursday 11 June 2026
Impact Level: Moderate
Forecast Confidence: High
Heavy rain is expected. The ground has a reduced ability to absorb rainfall.
A prolonged period of moderate rainfall is expected for the Kivalliq Coast.
Where: Chesterfield Inlet, Rankin Inlet, Whale Cove and Arviat.
Rainfall total: 30 to 40 mm of rain by Saturday evening.
Timing: Thursday through Saturday evening.
Remarks: A stalled low pressure system over northern Manitoba will see several waves of moderate intensity rainfall move over the Kivalliq Coast. As the ground remains frozen and unable to absorb water effectively, periods of heavier rainfall may result in localized flooding and washouts.
Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas.
Avoid low-lying areas.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts.
